The selection of the recipient families is aided by local pediatricians. The criteria for selection of the recipients is very simple. We look for families that "fall through the cracks"... the families who have worked hard for all their lives, and aside from being overwhelmed by the serious illness of a child, they are stuck with catastrophic expenses in meeting the needs of their child. 2011's Kidscooper eric gundlach and iva jane healey COOPER WAS BORN MARCH 25TH 2011 AND IS CURRENTLY STILL IN THE N.I.C.U. IN ALBANY, N.Y. HE WAS BORN AT THE 28 WEEK TERM OF PREGNANCY VIA C-SECTION AND HAS HEALTH ISSUES THAT REQUIRE MULTIPLE SURGERIES THAT WILL CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT 6 TO 12 MONTHS. iVA WAS BORN DECEMBER 2, 2010 AND HAS MICROCEPHALY, WHICH IS A DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY IN BRAIN GROWTH.
